Tom Brady’s Message To Saquon Barkley Had Giants RB Ready To ‘run through a brick wall’

Saquon Barkley really wanted to run, but there wasn’t any football field in his surroundings.

The Giants player attended the Met Gala in New York City earlier this year. He will remember the event for few great things, and Tom Brady is one of them. Barkley met the Patriots quarterback for the first time, and yes, Brady knew how to put him on fire. He knows how to do that.

Barkley is really competitive, and Brady’s words became his biggest motivation.

“It’s great to do it for one season, but can you do it for five? Can you do it for 10?” he recalled Brady asking him.

“I’m standing there at the Met Gala ready to run through a brick wall,” Barkley added.

TB12 comes off his sixth Super Bowl win. He is 42, and time has nothing on him. Brady is the only player from his class that still breaks football field. Well, he does much more than that. He is the GOAT, remember?

The Giants and Patriots will play Thursday night in Foxboro, Mass., but we won’t be seeing Barkley and Brady. They will definitely meet in Week 6 of the regular season.

TB12 was the only active NFL player Tuesday night as the NFL kicked off the 100th season with a gala featuring Hall of Famers LaDainian Tomlinson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis, Michael Irvin and Kurt Warner at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

“Sometimes you take it for granted,” Barkley said. “but to able to talk to legends that you’ve been watching for a very long time? Every day I talk to one with Eli [Manning]. You don’t really take the time to cherish it. You are so caught up in the moment. Sometimes, you have to take a step back.”

The New England Patriots are happy to have Tom Brady around. Hopefully, he won’t retire next season. Brady’s contract extension shouldn’t be viewed as a guarantee for his presence on the field in 2021. Brady’s career has to end at some point, but it won’t end this season. Let’s hope that he doesn’t have anything else on his mind.
