Watch: Stephon Gilmore Intercepts Miami Dolphins’ QB, Makes His First Career TD

What’s wrong with the Miami Dolphins? They are playing the New England Patriots. That’s all. Their Week 1 performance was terrible, and this one is even worse. Tom Brady and his team shut down the Dolphins in the most brilliant way. Stephon Gilmore pulled out an incredible interception.

Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a touchdown pass to his opponent, and Gilmore took the football away, running 54 yards untouched into the end zone.

Gilmore was recently ranked 22nd in the NFL’s Top 100 players list which makes the highest of any cornerback in the NFL. In the 2018 season, the 28-year-old had two interceptions, 45 tackles and one sack while forcing two fumbles.

The Patriot talked about his game with Brady and Edelman at Patriots training camp.

“It’s [playing against Brady] helped me out a lot. Just seeing his work ethic coming out here each and every day, making everybody better. I mean, he throws a great ball, so if you’re in the position to make a play on his ball, you can pretty much make a play on anybody’s ball. You know, we’re just trying to compete and get better each and every day just like everybody else.

“Those guys throw pretty balls, so just trying to track the ball in the air as much as I can so I can come down with [it].”

In March, Gilmore had his contract restructured. A well-deserved change.

Yeah, he’s had a great year and he’s been just so solid,” Brady said. “It’s tough to complete the ball on him. We feel that way in practice. I’ve played with a lot of good corners and he’s right up there with the best of them. He knocks the ball away, intercepts the ball, makes the quarterback pay. He’s physical, good in the run game, good in zone, good in short, intermediate, deep. I mean, he’s all-around just been a great player for us.”

This game was really important for the Patriots. They broke the Miami spell, and this may cause an avalanche of reactions among the Dolphins. Some of them want to leave the team, and this game may be a defining moment.
