LeBron James Says Staples Center Is The Winner Of The Offseason… Hopes To See Bronny There

The Los Angeles Lakers played really big this summer. They added Anthony Davis to the roster, and LeBron James may lead the offense through him. The Los Angeles Clippers played big, too. They added Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the roster. This makes them two powerful teams and this season will be important for both organizations. LeBron talked about winners and losers of the offseason, and said that Staples Center is the ultimate winner.

“Staples Center is the biggest winner of the summer,” he said from the Lakers media day on Friday. “If you’re a fan of the game of basketball, you get an opportunity to see the Clippers one night, then you get an opportunity to see the Lakers … Staples Center is the place to be.”

The king of basketball even joked that his son Bronny will play at the same arena. Bronny is a freshman in high schools, and his team, Sierra Canyon may come to the center.

“Maybe even Sierra Canyon could go there and play a game,” he said. “Just throwing that out there. They have some freshman on their team that’s doing okay for himself.”

Sierra Canyon is a powerhouse high school. LeBron’s son and Dwyane Wade’s son go there.

The Clippers were deemed the team that had the most successful offseason. Adding Leonard and George makes them incredibly versatile. The Lakers had a lot of success, too. They signed Davis, Danny Green, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard and Avery Bradley.

LeBron is pretty happy about Davis, and they have great plans for the season.

“We all know how great Anthony Davis is,” LeBron said. “And if we’re not playing through Anthony Davis while he’s on the floor then it makes no sense to have him on the floor because he’s that great (laughing). It doesn’t mean every time down we just throw it to him, but we have the ability to do that. He’s been very efficient in his career, he commands double teams and when you can attract two defenders on one guy, then you have the numbers in your favor. … It’ll open things up for the other guys on the floor, including myself.”
