Draymond Green Reveals LeBron James’ ‘Biggest Accomplishment’ In His Career

Lakers star LeBron James was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. He became the greatest player of all times, and many athletes could really follow his example. But, LeBron is really successful off the court, and Draymond Green emphasized his greatest accomplishment.

Green appeared on CNBC’s Power Lunch, and talked about LeBron’s biggest contribution to the game.

“It has a lot of people talking and obviously that’s a huge and large credit to Lebron James,” he said. “You know, with what he’s done in his career that’s kind of shown everybody else the power that you have as a player. And that’s, you know, that’s why you saw the movement this year is because the athlete, the basketball players have taken control of their own future. We’ve taken control of our destiny. And I think a lot of people hate that but I think that’s one of – you know, everybody celebrates Lebron for his basketball career and the things he’s been able to accomplish. I think the doors that he’s opened for athletes and especially basketball players is his biggest accomplishment.”

According to Green, LeBron helped many players to become aware of the fact that they get to control their own future in the NBA. He is absolutely right. LeBron made a few bold moves in his career, and showed athletes that they can do whatever they want and sign with another team. He left the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat in free agency in 2010. That’s what helped players gain bigger control of their contracts and their free agency.

Green talked about the moment when LeBron became a huge name.

“People didn’t start to view him as they view him now, until he became that force, that man to say, ‘I’m here.’ I feel like for years, he shied away from saying ‘I’m here.’ And when he started to say, ‘F*** you all, I’m here.’ That’s when he became who he is, and no one would ever said that until he did it himself,” he said last year.

Well, LeBron is working on a few projects at the moment, and he is ready for the new season.
