Julian Edelman Injury: Here’s Promising Update On Patriots Receiver

The New England Patriots played the second half of their Week 3 game without wide receiver Julian Edelman. Edelman finished the game with seven catches for 62 yards and a touchdown because he had to leave the match due to a chest injury. Well, there’s good news for everyone.

Michael Giardi wrote that Edelman is expected to have more tests and even a MRI to see if his rib cartilage is damaged. His X-Rays are negative.

Ian Rapoport confirmed the information, citing a source close to the team.

Playing without Julian Edelman was challenging for the team, but they have a solution to every problem.

“Yeah, I mean, when you have good players out there, it helps. So, your best players playing is a good thing,” Tom Brady said during the postgame press conference. “When you’re missing your best players, it gets more challenging and your margin of error goes down. But, every team deals with it. I mean, they certainly weren’t healthy today. They’ve been missing a lot of guys, too. So, it’s just part of it, and we’re going to deal with it all year, and guys who are in there, they have to go and do a really good job. When we’re all healthy, it feels good, but we’ve still got to go execute. And when we’re not, we’ve still got to go execute, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

During his appearance on WEEI, the quarterback praised his injured teammate.

“He’s one of the best players who has ever played for this organization,” Brady said. “I love being out there with him and if he’s not out there the offense takes a huge hit. Hopefully he can be out there as soon as he’s healthy and ready to go.

“He’s a tough guy. Jules, I have been around a lot of players, I mean there’s very, very, very few guys who have Julian’s toughness. I don’t know exactly what all the reports show. I think today and Tuesday are good indicators of that. He’s tough.”

The Patriots are having a road game against the Buffalo Bills.
