Patriots WR Julian Edelman Gives Update On Thumb Injury

Sunday night is a big night for the New England Patriots the champions are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they are ready to play some serious football. However, Julian Edelman suffered a thumb injury, and his status wasn’t confirmed until now.

The wide receiver put fans in a panic mode, and he injured his thumb in the fourth preseason game. Luckily, it wasn’t too serious. Edelman missed the first few weeks of training camp due to his injury.

Ahead of the season opener against the Steelers, Edelman appeared on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” and talked about his injury. Yes, he provided a promising update.

“It’s thumbs up, man. Thumbs up,” he said.

The game will start at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday night.

Edelman is busy with his new series, and he announced the new program.

“Effective immediately, I’ve decided to make more YouTube videos,” Edelman began, following a few bloopers. “So starting today, of course, I’ll be releasing a new video every Wednesday at 11 a.m. … There’s going to be a lot of bad acting, product placement and athletes awkwardly trying to read off the teleprompter. You’re going to laugh, you’re going to cry and you just might learn something.”

The 2019 season brings joy to NFL fans, and Edelman shares the same excitement.

“I’m extremely excited for the new year,” he said before suffering his thumb injury. “This is a new team. With training camp coming up, this is kind of like when school’s back in session. We had summer break. You get to see the fellas. But this is where you learn the team, learn (about) each other, become accountable for each other, and work hard together, and create a consistency together,” he said. “This is the beginning shape form of your team, these next few weeks. It’s a crucial point. We put a lot of hard work in during the spring. It’s the next step toward playing with other teams. So it’s definitely exciting.”

Let’s see how will the Patriots handle the Steelers on Sunday. It’s a big game for everybody. Let’s go, Pats! We’re excited!
