Report: Patriots Cut Antonio Brown, Here’s The Official Statement

Antonio Brown is out of New England. The team decided to cut the superstar wide receiver after numerous allegations against him. Brown is accused of sexual assault and rape, and his former trainer, Britney Taylor, filed civil lawsuit against him. There was another woman, artist, saying that Brown had similar behavior in her presence.

The Patriots released a statement on the release.

“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”

Brown’s lawyer took to Twitter to express his opinion. The wide receiver thanked the Patriots for the opportunity.

“It’s unfortunate things didn’t work out with the Patriots. But Antonio is healthy and is looking forward to his next opportunity in the NFL. He wants to play the game he loves and he hopes to play for another team soon.”

Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t want to comment on Brown’s situation.

“I know there are questions about Antonio. We take all the situations with our team very seriously. There are some things that we’re looking into. But I’m not going to have any comment on any of the off-the-field situations or questions on that.”

He had similar response to the second question about Brown.

“I think I’ve already addressed this, so we’re going to get ready for the Jets here. Happy to answer any football questions. The rest of it … I’m done with the rest of it.”

Judge didn’t want to talk about it either.

“I think that’s a better question for coach Belichick,” said Judge, who also coordinates New England’s special teams. “I appreciate the question, and I understand where you’re coming from with it. I think as a position coach, an assistant coach and a coordinator, my job is to focus more on the football and get everybody ready to play.

“When you’re talking ball and you’re with him, he loves it,” Judge said. “He’s very engaged. He’s very energetic. He brings a great new perspective to a lot of things we’ve done from his experience elsewhere, and he’s been fun to work with and learn from.”
