Rob Gronkowski Shares Never Before Seen Photo In Honor Of His Mom B-Day Week

Retired Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski shared a rare photo of his mom. It was from the night he was drafted, and Gronk shared it in honor of his mom’s birthday.

“In honor of my Mom’s b-day week, #tbt to a pic of us the night that I got drafted!!!”

Gronk shocked everyone with his decision to retire, but we saw it coming. He was in pain and suffered too many injuries throughout his career. Let’s not forget the surgeries he had to fix his issues. But, mom Diane is proud of Gronk, and she told him that he needs to be like Tom Brady.

“The thing that I want Rob to learn from Tom Brady is ‘Hi mom,’” Diane said. “It’s been nine years. After every interview at the end of the game, Tom Brady says, ‘Hi Mom!’ Every once in awhile I see Rob up there interviewing and I’m like, ‘OK, he’s going to say, ‘Hi Mom,’ and then they’re like, ‘OK, thanks Rob,’ and he’s like, ‘OK, thanks,’ and he walks away.

“I’m like, ‘Where’s the ‘Hi Mom’?’”

Diane is pretty happy about her kids and their achievement. Raising athletes is a tough job, but she did it with ease.

“It was a lot of work, and it was no sleep,” she said. “Because you’re so exhausted, it’s just a blur. Sometimes you forget if you even … ‘Did I take a shower this morning?’ Like you really had to think about it because everything was so fast.”

Gronk is Diane’s most successful son and we know that he is the best tight end in the entire NFL history.

“I remember the first time I was at Gillette Stadium. Rob was just starting out there with the Patriots,” she said. “This girl down in front of me had a jersey on that said Gronkowski on the back of it and I thought ‘Why is she wearing my son’s jersey?’ Well, now you look and there are just millions of them.” 

Although many talk about Gronk’s return, there’s almost zero chance for us to see him in the next few years. He has to recover completely first.
