Watch: Moment Of Raekwon McMillan Hitting Tom Brady That Led Game Official To Say ‘Stay Off Tom’

Dolphins linebacker Raekwon McMillan hit Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in a legitimate play, but game officials had something else to say.

“Tom didn’t say anything but the referee said, ‘Stay off Tom.’ I put my hands up in the air and said ‘I got you.’”

This comment doesn’t come as a surprise because the NFL protects quarterbacks, and Brady is the biggest name in the league.

McMillan wasn’t angry at all, and he has no bad feelings for referee Bill Vinovich. However, he is still looking for photos from the hit.

“I’m still looking for pictures from the hit so I can hang it up and show my kids some day,” he said.

The Dolphins made a change regarding McMillan. They used him to set the edge instead of in the middle of the field.

“I never really played edge in my life,” he said. “I came off the edge a little bit last year but not too much. Getting my first bit of work at it this year. You are dealing with bigger bodies. I was dealing with them at linebacker but it’s an every snap thing dealing with big tackles [when you play on the edge]. We’re professionals; whatever they ask me to do, I go out and do it. I was excited to get on the field and play.”

The team faces problems at the moment, and many would like to know what’s the real problem in Miami.

“I control what I control,” Bobby McCain said, after saying that the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade “sucks.”

He added: “I don’t make any decisions. You never know if it’s the day it’s your number [to be jettisoned]. We’ve got to perform and work our [butts] off and try to get a performance that will bring home a W and quiet the haters.”

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported that some players want to leave the Miami Dolphins because of the problems they have at the beginning of the regular season. Well, this goes in favor of their opponents. The Patriots don’t mind any of this, because their roster is packed with talent.
