LeBron James, Anthony Davis Lose to Nets Despite Kyrie Irving’s Injury

The Brooklyn Nets defeated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers 114-111 in the preseason game at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China, on Thursday. This was the first of two preseason games between the teams in China.

Theo Pinson made one of two free throws and David Nwaba slammed home a dunk for Brooklyn, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope missed a game tying three for the Lakers at the buzzer.

With the focus on basketball, the superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers again after impressing in the team’s preseason debut against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday,” Bleacher Report’s Mike Chiari wrote.

“Meanwhile, Nets guard Kyrie Irving‘s preseason debut for the team was cut short after only one minute when he took a shot to the face from Lakers guard Rajon Rondo. Irving donned a mask after suffering a facial fracture prior to training camp.”

Lakers shooting guard Danny Green said he and LeBron are a little older, adding that they have to save their energy for the big game.

“We’re a little older, a bit rusty, and don’t do as much dancing as we used to,” Green told Wosny Lambre of The Athletic. “We save that energy for the court. But you never know, we’re in the Staples Center where all kinds of music gets played. You might be in the mood. But like I said, as you get older, you save your energy for the important stuff that might happen on the court.”

This is just the beginning, and the regular season will start right away. The Lakers better focus on the mistakes they made last night, and hopefully, that won’t happen in the next game against the Nets.

LeBron and Davis have the perfect chemistry on the floor, and they better use more of that in the next game. They make the perfect duo in the NBA, and many pundits know that LeBron and Davis are stronger than any other group of players in the league. Let’s see what happens next game. hopefully, China won’t give Adam Silver another headache regarding the protests and their plan to suspend NBA games.
