Larry Bird Says LeBron James Is Incomparable Because Of His Greatness

LeBron James is compared to many superstars, and NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird talked about him, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard.

Boston Celtics legend talked about his favorite players in the league. He would mention a lot of players, but LeBron, Kawhi and Kevin are his best.

“There’s just so many of them, you hate to just pick one,” Bird told The Undefeated in an Q&A interview.

LeBron is compared to Michael Jordan, but Bird says LeBron is special for his ability to stay healthy after playing for so long.

“Obviously, LeBron. I can’t compare him to anybody because he’s so great, just like Michael [Jordan] was,” he added. “They’re very special, and I don’t know how in hell he [James] stays healthy. But, that’s probably one of the great qualities of his game, being able to stay healthy playing that many minutes.”

Durant is also an excellent player, and Leonard took the Toronto Raptors to their first title.

“Kevin Durant is special, Kawhi Leonard ‘s run last year in the playoffs, unbelievable,” Bird said.

He discussed the Warriors players, and praised Klay Thompson’s skills on the court. Thompson had excellent “60 point performance” against the Indiana Pacers.

“All the Golden State guys, the way they play the game, the way they respect the game. I am still amazed that Klay Thompson could score 60 points on 11 dribbles

[against Indiana]

,” Bird said.

Prior to his comments on Thompson and the Golden State, Bird talked about all the changes that happened to the team.

In his interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Bird discussed the Warriors’ failure.

“It’s going to be hard to tell because they were a special team the last few years. It’s just unfortunate what happened to them last year because they were going to be a dynasty in the making. They had a great team. It seemed like they played well together. But when you lose two players like Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, it’s really hard to overcome that.”

The Warriors are still confident about the upcoming season, but LeBron and his team are ready for the big game.
