LeBron Surprises ‘I Promise’ Students With 800 Pairs Of Sneakers

LeBron James opened the I Promise School with the only purpose to help at-risk youth in his hometown. The kid from Akron did so much for this kids, and now he gave them 800 pairs of good sneakers. They are all getting a pair of LeBron 16.

The students had an option to choose from 10 different colorways as confirmed by the LeBron James Family Foundation on Facebook. In this way, LeBron hopes to push students to try even harder and get better results.

The Lakers star opened the school in 2018, and the kids have shown a great improvement.

“PROUD is an understatement,” LeBron wrote on Instagram. “I honestly could not wait to share this news when I heard it. Kids you are smart, amazing, talented, and nothing short of INSPIRATIONAL! 9-5 every. day. Teachers & all the staff ya’ll are the right ones, the real ones on this journey changing lives & numbers don’t lie. we’re only going to keep getting better. Let’s keep GROWING and changing the game.”

LeBron said the kids did an excellent job this year, and their scores are much better now.“These kids are doing an unbelievable job, better than we all expected,” he said. “When we first started, people knew I was opening a school for kids. Now people are going to really understand the lack of education they had before they came to our school. People are going to finally understand what goes on behind our doors.”

Being born and raised in Akron himself, LeBron knows what these kids go through.

”As a kid from Akron Ohio myself I remember walking these same streets I remember walking North Street… riding my bike throughout the rest of the city,” he said. “Kids just want to know that you care. Once they know that you care, then they will tap into their gift. That’s what I’m just trying to do. Let the kids know that we care, that I care. Then we’ll let them fly away. I walked the same streets as those kids. I had the same dreams. The same nightmares. The same upbringing as those kids, so I know everything that they’re going through.”
