Photo: Stephon Gilmore Celebrates Interception Against Giants With Epic Instagram

The New England Patriots have a really strong roster this season, and they lead the league in interceptions through six weeks with 14. Three of these happened during the Patriots’ win over the New York Giants. John Simon, Duron Harmon and Stephon Gilmore picked off rookie quarterback Daniel Jones at Gillette Stadium.

This was Gilmore’s second interception of the season, and he celebrated it on Instagram. Simon was there, too.

Simon Says….”Intercept the Ball”

Gilmore, Simon and the team will keep their steady pace Monday night when New England meets the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

2019 should be another brilliant season for Gilmore and Patriots fans do have some high expectations.

Gilmore talked to media members about training with Tom Brady and Julian Edelman at Patriots training camp. He said, “It’s [playing against Brady] helped me out a lot. Just seeing his work ethic coming out here each and every day, making everybody better. I mean, he throws a great ball, so if you’re in the position to make a play on his ball, you can pretty much make a play on anybody’s ball. You know, we’re just trying to compete and get better each and every day just like everybody else. Those guys throw pretty balls, so just trying to track the ball in the air as much as I can so I can come down with it.”

Gilmore had his deal restructured in March, and Brady had words of praise for his teammate.

Yeah, he’s had a great year and he’s been just so solid,” he quarterback said. “It’s tough to complete the ball on him. We feel that way in practice. I’ve played with a lot of good corners and he’s right up there with the best of them. He knocks the ball away, intercepts the ball, makes the quarterback pay. He’s physical, good in the run game, good in zone, good in short, intermediate, deep. I mean, he’s all-around just been a great player for us.”

We really hope to see Gilmore pull out another interception on Monday. It will be an interesting game for the Patriots, and we can already see them win it.
