Watch: JaVale McGee Faking An Injury To Get A Wide-Open Dunk Is The Best Play Of The NBA Preseason

JaVale McGee is someone people knew for his humorous foibles on the floor. He was part of the “Shaqtin’ a Fool,” and that’s how the beef between him and Shaquille O’Neal was triggered.

In the third quarter of the game against the Golden State Warriors, McGee performed one of the most hilarious acts we’ve ever seen. After his leg was tangled with Warriors forward Alfonzo McKinnie, McGee hobbled out of bounds as if he suffered an injury. Seconds later, he was wide-open, and Anthony Davis assisted him under the basket for an easy dunk. These were the most exciting two points of the preseason.

Draymond Green didn’t listen to his instincts. McGee was actually a step ahead, and Green couldn’t feel it.

Prior to signing Davis, McGee talked about the only thing that could help LeBron win a championship. It was another All-Star player. Luckily, Davis is here now.

“I feel like LeBron only needs, especially with the young guys that he has right now, is one All-Star to add to his roster, and he can at least make it to the Western Conference Finals,” McGee said.

Even Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has high opinion of McGee.

“He’s one of the smartest guys I’ve been around,” Kerr told the Washington Post‘s Adam Kilgore in March 2017. “He’s a techie. He’s got his drones. He’s always up to date on every new technological advancement. He’s got funny stories. The team loves him. The coaching staff loves him. Sometimes this league is about opportunity and who you’re playing with.”

What about LeBron? He urged the team to sign McGee. “I played against him in the last two NBA Finals and I wanted him on this team because I know what he brings,” King James said. “It’s his energy, his energy level, his ability at the rim and his ability to protect the rim. If you don’t have that on your team, you’re not going to have much, man. You need to have people with a high IQ, which he’s got. That’s why I wanted JaVale to be part of this. It is no longer a secret that the king lobbied the Lakers to get the champion.
