Report: New Heights Revealed For LeBron James, Anthony Davis And Dwight Howard

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard aren’t as tall as they were listed as confirmed in a report from The Athletic. The differentials aren’t too big, but you can’t ignore that.

Adding Anthony Davis was a big move in Los Angeles, and the front office did the impossible to add him to the roster. After one failed attempt, Davis became a Laker. LeBron, Davis and Howard make one of the most formidable frontcourts in the league.

We can’t really tell how good the Lakers will play in this season, but they were definitely good in the preseason. In the 126-93 win over the Golden State Warriors, LeBron and Davis scored 26 points together. Davis had 10 rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and a steal. LeBron had 11 assists. Howard scored 13 points with seven rebounds.

Here are three notable official heights for the Lakers, per sources:

LeBron James: 6-foot-8½ (previous listing, 6-foot-8)
Anthony Davis: 6-foot-9¾ (previous listing, 6-foot-11)
Dwight Howard: 6-foot-9¾ (previous listing, 6-foot-11)

The Lakers will see another preseason game on Friday night. They will have another game against the Warriors.

Head coach Frank Vogel is really happy about the team he gets to coach this season.

“The open man is the focal point, quite frankly. We have two offensive monsters, but it’s going to be about the open man. That’s what we have to accomplish. If we’re a team that doesn’t play for each other and doesn’t become a team-first team, we’re going to be limited even with those great offensive talents. We’re going to have the mindset that yes, we’re playing through those guys, but we’re going to attack to draw two and find the open man.

“Getting them to play together and to come together quite frankly… not just to play together. But I love the way the team has been put together by Rob Pelinka. I really do. Obviously, it starts with the two pillars in Anthony and LeBron… just two of the game’s best. And then the surrounding parts… that’s what I’m equally as excited about. You want to put as many shooters around those guys as you can and we have an army of shooters. You want to put lengthy defenders around those guys to make sure that you got a great defense and we have JaVale, Dwight, and obviously AD can do that as well. And then you want to have perimeter defenders, so we have a lot of versatility. I think we have the parts that fit and it’s really going to be about whether we come together and how quickly we come together.”
