Tom Brady Gives His Take On Rob Gronkowski, Has One Simple Wish For Ex-Patriot

Rob Gronkowski has yet to sign his retirement papers, but he is definitely sure about his decision. The tight end won’t join his team in near future, and nothing will change his mind. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Patriots fans don’t wish him luck. The same applies to quarterback Tom Brady.

The quarterback talked to former Patriots teammate Randy Moss in an interview that aired ahead of the game against the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football.” Brady said he still talks to Gronk, but also said he is happy to see him do something he always wanted to do.

“The thing for me is he’s happy,” Brady told Moss. “And honestly, that’s all that I want for him.

“So if happiness to him is playing football one day, then I would love that. If happiness is not, then I would love that too. … It was amazing having him, but I also realize that it was amazing having you (Moss), and it doesn’t last forever. And you love it when you’re together. And when you’re not, you’ll appreciate the memories you had.”

This sums up pretty much everything Brady said on “The Greg Hill Show.”

“I love that guy,” Brady said. “I’m so happy that he’s enjoying his time, his life. He seems to really be doing a lot of great things. He knows how I feel about him. I want what’s best for him. He’s the only person that can make those decisions. I don’t lobby for those things.

“I have a great relationship with him. He has given actually a hell of a lot to our team already over the course of a long period of time, and I think people should be very appreciative for what he’s brought to the team and what he’s brought to the region. I think he’s a very special guy. He’s just in a different phase of his life.”

Julian Edelman agrees with Brady. He was pretty amazed with Gronk’s broadcast debut. He also addressed Gronk’s decision to stay retired. Of course, this doesn’t change the fact that the Patriots will gladly use Gronk’s help in case he comes back.

“Yeah, I don’t know. If he does, hey, that’s awesome. We need it,” Edelman said on “The Greg Hill Show” ahead of the Patriots’ Week 7 game against the New York Jets. “But you’re not really worried about that. You’re worried about the Jets, who you’re playing, your opponent this week and that’s just how it goes.”
