LeBron James Sends Inspirational Message to Lakers Fanbase After Season-Opening Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers played the Clippers for the regular season opener, and they lost. LeBron James took to his Instagram account to thank his fanbase for their support.

“What an atmosphere it was last night! Laker Nation showed up and showed out! We owe y’all 1 and many more after that. Thank you for the support and know we’re going to make y’all proud to be a Laker fan! Let’s all throw that powder up to the heavens above and watch it rain over us all. “

LeBron scored 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. When it comes to his shooting, LeBron connected on 7 of 19 from the field and hit just 1 of 5 from beyond the arc.

“I’m not going to overreact to one game,” Charles Barkley said. “But I do think the Lakers have to take LeBron (James) off the point. He can’t play the point all night. They need to play at a much faster pace. At his age, he can’t do that. They need to find a way to speed the tempo up to get the other guys involved. That Kawhi Leonard, he is coming. I call him a cyborg. …  When you have a superstar, it gives everybody else a certain amount of confidence to raise their level. He’s going to do that for the Clippers. LeBron and (Anthony Davis) are going to have to ball to get out of this Western Conference. I’ve been in the NBA for 30 years. This year’s Western Conference is the best I’ve ever seen with Utah, Denver and Portland.”

“The Clippers looked ready,” Shaquille O’Neal added. “Kenny and I know. Chuck wouldn’t know what it’s like being on a championship team. You need the right pieces. I like the pieces they put together. Montrezl Harrell is like Horace Grant. He’s not going to ask for the ball, but he’s going to get some rebounds. He’s going to hit the shot. He’s going to hustle. Patrick Beverley is going to say, ‘Kawhi, we need you on offense. But I’m going to stick on the best player. That’s what I do.’ Kawhi is going to play at his own pace.”
