Bill Belichick Gives Update On Rookies N’Keal Harry, Yodny Cajuste

The New England Patriots added a nice boost to their depth chart. They have N’Keal Harry as a first-round pick. However, he started the season on injured reserve. Harry started practicing this week, and he may join the team for the Week 8 game. Head coach Bill Belichick provided an update on Harry and Yodnu Cajuste.

“He’s coming along,” Belichick said of Harry. “Getting back in the practice routine. We have other guys taking reps for game-plan stuff. So mostly the scout team (for him).”

Offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste is a third-round pick. He started the summer on the non-football injury list, and has yet to practice with New England because of the quad injury suffered during the pre-draft process. The offensive tackle was eligible to begin practicing this week. New England has a six-week window for Cajuste to start practicing with the team. If he doesn’t practice during that period, his season will end before it gets a chance to start. If the offensive tackle does start practicing, then the team has a 21-day window to activate him to their 53-man roster. If by any chance he isn’t activated during that period, then his season will end.

“We’ll see,” Belichick said when asked about Cajuste’s season. “Keep taking it day by day here.”

Harry is joining Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers, Gunner Olszewski and Matthew Slater at wide receiver unit. Gordon suffered

knee and ankle injuries. Patriots left tackle Isaiah Wynn is placed on injured reserve and may return in Week 11. The Patriots started Marshall Newhouse at left tackle to replace Wynn. They’ve decided not to carry backup tackle Korey Cunningham on their gameday active roster, and activated guard Jermaine Eluemunor and center James Ferentz. Patriots left guard Joe Thuney likely is expected to move to tackle in a pinch.

The New England Patriots are 6-0 at this point of the regular season, and the New York Jets are next on their list. Monday is a big day for both teams, but experts have predicted a win for New England. Let’s see what happens in this game.
