Josh Gordon Shares Interesting Comment On Instagram Amid Patriots IR Drama

The New England Patriots traded a 2020 second-round draft pick to get Mohamed Sanu from the Atlanta Falcons, and it looks like they played really smart here. The team’s receiving unit suffered a major hit Wednesday as Josh Gordon was placed on injured reserve. Well, some say he didn’t know about this decision.

That’s what his comment on Instagram suggests.

Gordon wrote “Interesting,” under a post about his position with the Patriots.

This changes everything. It was more than obvious that Gordon would play with the Patriots forever. Everyone was so happy with his skills, including Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.

The Patriots have different plans for the receiver. They placed him on injured reserve with multiple knee ailments. This transaction looked like an attempt to rest a player who is injured, but the addition of Sanu took things to a completely different direction.

According to Gordon, his injury is minor, and he even believes he’s capable of playing on Sunday. Today, he hopes to be waived in near future which gives him a chance to sign with a different team. The Patriots and Gordon are not on the same page about his physical condition, and this gets a different shade now that Sanu is a Patriot. Gordon expects to be cleared soon because his injury is “minor.” He was on a treadmill during a recent rehab session and set it to 22 miles per hour. Once cleared, he may sign with a different team.

Gordon has battled substance-abuse issues and was hit with multiple suspensions in his career. He was reinstated by the league in August, and we expected great things from his deal with the Patriots.

In six games, Gordon was able to catch 20 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown. He was set to hit free agency in the offseason, and this may change depending on the Patriots’ next move regarding his position on the roster.

The Patriots are losing a talented player, but this is probably part of Belichick’s great plan for win. He always has the perfect gameplan, and Gordon is not part of it this time.
