Julian Edelman’s Daily Reminder For Tom Brady Is Dope

Tom Brady and Julian Edelman have the perfect relationship on the field, and the receiver grew up idolizing the GOAT.

Edelman was born in Northern California, and he loved the game as a kid. Today, he has a big name and a daily reminder for Brady.

In a sit-down interview with FOX Sports’ Erin Andrews prior to the Patriots’ game against the New York Giants, Edelman spoke about his chemistry with Brady. The receiver said that his admiration for TB12 was good for their chemistry.

“It was Tom Brady,” Edelman said. “You know, I was a Bay Area kid on the asphalts of junior high saying I was No. 12 for the Patriots just because he was a guy from our area. I remind him of that every day, too.”

What’s Brady’s responde?

“You’re old too now,” Edelman said.

Brady has high opinion of his favorite target.

“He’s one of the best players in the history of the franchise,” TB12 said Monday on WEEI’s “Greg Hill Show.” When you think of some of the great receivers we’ve had, Julian is right up there at the top. So you’ve got to get him the ball, and he’s making a lot of yards with it in his hands. “We put a lot on Julian. Julian’s a very smart player. Very tough. He’s mentally, physically tough. What he’s gone through the last few weeks with his injury and then still just laying it on the line — you see even on that catch-and-run there in the third quarter, him kind of diving over the pile. He’s an incredible player, an incredible teammate, and the more we get him the ball, the better it is for our offense.”If you ask the coach, he will say that Edelman is the best receiver he has ever coached. We knew that, coach!

And Edelman will always remember their first meeting.

“I remember Tom walked in and I had my big ole 4-inch binder and we were going and he was walking through the doorway and all of a sudden I look up and he walks through and he goes, ‘Hey, I’m Tom.’ I almost dropped my book and I am like, ‘Holy smokes. It’s Tom Brady,’ I am a Bay Area kid. I was a big fan. And he goes, ‘Hey, Julian.’ He knew my name, too. He had his ol’ little grin on that he has. I dropped my book like, ‘Hey, Tom’ and you’re scrambling to meetings and stuff. As a rookie, you are in a new environment and you’re trying to study calculus with basic math knowledge. That is what you’re going through and then Tom Brady walks through the door. It was funny, but it was very a welcoming hello.”
