LeBron James Comments On Kyrie Irving’s Last Shot Attempt Vs. Timberwolves

LeBron James was impressed with Kyrie Irving and his ability to get a shot off against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the buzzer on Wednesday despite falling.

LeBron spent three seasons with Irving in Cleveland, and said he’s seen the Nets star lose his footing and still play like a star.

“I think even with him losing his footing he still got a great look. That was more impressive than anything. I just hope these so-called basketball trainers say that was a real move.

“I’ve seen him make that move many times. He tripped. The most impressive is that he still got up and got a great look.”

Irving spoke his mind on his dispute with LeBron during their time in Cleveland.

Obviously, this was a big deal for me, because I had to call [LeBron] and tell him I apologized for being that young player that wanted everything at his fingertips, and I wanted everything at my threshold. I wanted to be the guy that led us to a championship. I wanted to be the leader. I wanted to be all that, and the responsibility of being the best in the world and leading your team is something that is not meant for many people.

“[LeBron] was one of those guys who came to Cleveland and tried to show us how to win a championship, and it was hard for him, and sometimes getting the most out of the group is not the easiest thing in the world.”

LeBron feels great about his former teammate, too. “Yeah, we’re in a good place right now. Me and Kyrie are in a good place right now,” he said in February. “I love the man that he’s becoming, I love the challenges he’s accepted and I always wish the best for him.”

LeBron and the Lakers are having their own battles. The team lost the season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, but also managed to pull out a good game. Anthony Davis is on the team, and he will probably help the Lakers win a title this season. It’s a big season for every team in the NBA.
