Report: LeBron James Evacuates Home In California Threatened By Fire

Lakers star LeBron James was among the evacuees as the fire that erupted on Monday in southern California grew up to 70 acres. LeBron tweeted that he is looking for rooms for his family after having to “emergency evacuate” his home. Fires aren’t a joke, and LeBron knows that really well.

LeBron also tweeted that they found accommodation, saying that he prays for families and advised everyone to stay safe.

“I [pray] for all the families in the area that could be affected by these [fires] now!” LeBron wrote. “Pretty please get to safety ASAP.

“My best wishes as well to the first responders right now doing what they do best!”

The LA fire department said the fire was spreading in a westward direction. Mandeville Canyon and Mountain Gate are under mandatory evacuation order went all the way to Brentwood. The warning had been expanded west and includes parts of Topanga state park and the Pacific Palisades.

There are evacuation centers in Westwood and Sherman Oaks.

The fire erupted in the hills near the Getty Center museum. Officials say the facility was built with thick walls and doors to fight the flames.

The Tick fire near Santa Clarita was 70% contained on Sunday night. The wildfire in Sonoma county was controlled by crews. The fire covers up to 85 square miles.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the Santa Ana winds pick back up on Sunday, and the risk of fire will remain until Monday.

“We have homes that we believe are lost,” Mayor Eric Garcetti told reporters at a televised news conference after 5 a.m. He urged residents to leave their homes if they’re under mandatory evacuation orders, saying some residents had only 15 minutes to leave their homes. “Get out when we say get out,” he said, urging homeowners to not even attempt to fight the fire with garden hoses.

Los Angeles Fire Capt. Erik Scott said officials were really concerned about Mandeville Canyon, the Brentwood area around Bundy Drive and Mountaingate. Scott reported at least two homes have been burnt down.

The situation doesn’t look good at all.
