Tom Brady Has 1-Word Response To Sum Up Patriots’ Hot Start

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been carrying his team for two decades, and many say that he will retire after the season. Well, people talk about this after every season, and Brady doesn’t even think of this. He is focused on upcoming games, and has words of praise for the defense.

The Patriots offense struggles this season. Key players are injured. Well, the offense may not be the strongest in the NFL, but the Pats have the best defense in the league. Brady enjoys watching defensive players from the sidelines.

“I think it’s one word: defense,” Brady said on ESPN. “It’s been about the defense and what those guys have been able to do. I’m kind of sitting on the sideline watching like, This is unbelievable. I mean, we’re getting the ball, we’re getting turnovers, those guys are sacking the quarterback, getting good field position. I think there’s definitely frustration that I feel, because we’re not excelling. But I also think it’s important to have reasonable expectations for what we should accomplish. The fact that we’re 8–0, I’m happy about that. I love that we’re 8–0, but I want us to do better, too.”

He has already discussed the power his teammates have on the other side of the ball.

“The way our defense is playing, as long as we don’t turn the ball over, we know we have a great chance to win because they are playing as well as any defense I have ever played with,” Brady said on WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show. “It is really spectacular to watch from the sideline.

“I mean, look at the stats through five weeks. They are very good in the secondary. They have really great players. They have a great rush. Linebackers are so versatile. They are so well-coached. It’s fun to watch. Only five games into the year, I am sure they think they have a lot to prove. It’s fun from the sideline. … They are doing an incredible job. Let’s keep it going.”

The Patriots are playing the Ravens on Sunday night, and they are already working on the mistakes they made in the past games.
