Warriors Give Legitimately Concerning Update On Kevon Looney’s Injury

The Golden State Warriors will have a lot of problems this season. Things won’t go as smooth as Stephen Curry predicted mostly because the team has too many injured players. Kevon Looney is one of them, and the team released an update on his condition.

Looney left the game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He will meet a team of specialist to determine the damage to his hamstring injury, and is expected to miss at least two games. It looks like this injury isn’t that innocent.

“The naturopathic condition” has been affecting Looney for two years, and it will probably be a recurring problem for him.

“I’m feeling really, really bad for him,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “He’s such a great human being, player.”

Kerr isn’t ready to use Green at center full-time Sunday against the Thunder.

“No matter how you slice it, from a size standpoint, it’s a lot to handle,” he said. “Typically we’ve played Draymond at the five over the years for 10 minutes a game. We’ve never really asked him to do it for huge minutes. We’ve done it to play in spurts and generate pace but asking to Draymond to guard Steven Adams for 30 minutes wouldn’t make much sense. We’ve got to mix and match and find different combinations and different things to do.”

Kerr has words of praise for Looney.

“One of my favorite guys that I’ve ever coached because he’s not just low maintenance, he’s zero maintenance,” the head coach said. “He just comes in and does his work and you just want a guy like that to flourish and he should be entering the prime of his career and hopefully, he’s got many years ahead of him.”

This doesn’t look good for the Warriors depth. They lack players at center, and they will have to use unexpected options on the bench to take Looney’s minutes.

The Warriors need Looney on the floor, so he better get well. It’s too early to make a prediction, but the Warriors shouldn’t really hope to win the title this season. Let’s see what happens next.
