Watch: Bronny James’ Latest Highlight Reel Is Absolutely Insane

Being the son of LeBron James means growing with a lot of pressure on your shoulders. But, Bronny doesn’t have a problem with that, because he is a talented kid. It’s in his genes.

Bronny begins his freshman year at Sierra Canyon High School in California. The boy is currently playing with the most powerful high school team in the country. Dwyane Wade’s son is there, too. The team includes a few elite college basketball recruits.

LeBron’s son may be a freshman, but he’s attracted the attention of many basketball stars. He may be 14, but he plays some serious basketball. LeBron hopes to see the team play a game or two at Staples Center.

The Lakers star is proud of his boy, but he regrets giving him his name. LeBron said, “I still regret giving my 14-year-old my name because of that. Like, when I was younger I didn’t have a dad. So my whole deal was, when I have a kid, not only is he going to be a junior, I’m gonna do everything that this man didn’t do. They’re going to experience things I didn’t experience. The only thing I can do is give them the blueprint and it’s up to them to take their own course whenever that time comes.”

LeBron had a word or two for Bronny’s opponents. Some say it’s more like a warning.

“Expect a kid that will play for his teammates,” LeBron wrote on Instagram. “Will work hard, pay his dues and when his number is called he’ll make mistakes like any kid but will be ready and coached very well. Someone who doesn’t care about rankings cause the only thing that matters is his team success.”

Basketball fans keep talking about the chance to see LBron and Bronny playing on the same team. There’s a slight chance for these two to hit the field together, and LeBron really hopes to see that.

“I would love to see the floor with my son,” LeBron said. “My son is in the eighth grade now, if he continues on the path that he’s on right now, he could possibly be in the NBA in five or six years. That would be an unbelievable moment not only for myself but for my family, for everybody. So we’ll see. Obviously taking care of the body is number one, and we’ll continue to do that. “That would be pretty dang cool if I were able to be on the NBA floor with my oldest son.”

There’s also a chance for Bronny to make the NBA. He is playing at 5am, remember?

“Man seeing my boys outside hooping at 5am literally made me cry in the car riding to my workout,” LeBron wrote about his son playing the dawn. “OD proud dad moment that you wouldn’t understand from my perspective unless you never had a dad around your whole life or have kids of your own that you trying to instill the word “Work Ethic” to them cause they’ll never have to go through what you had to.”
