Watch: Jason Withlock Hints At Breaking Promise In Advance Of Patriots-Ravens Match

Jason Whitlock is about to break his promise.

Whitlock promised to never bet against Patriots head coach Bill Blichick and his team following their win over the New York Jets.

“Sam Darnold, he saw ghosts last night. I saw clown suits and my bookie,” he said on FS1’s “Speak For Yourself.” “Bill Belichick did it again. He made a fool out of an inexperienced quarterback and an old, stubborn, foolish gambler. I wish my passion for rooting against Belichick and the Patriots was just a television gimmick.

“It’s not. It’s costing me real money, causing real damage to my football credibility. Once again, despite my better judgment, I was the fool parting with his money last night. I thought Darnold and the Jets would build off the momentum of beating the Cowboys and play a one-possession game against the New England Patriots. The Patriots won 33-0. Darnold turned the ball over five times and complained of seeing ghosts. I tossed and turned all night wondering how or why I was so stupid. Belichick is chasing perfection. He almost had it in 2007 with a team led by a historic offense and Tom Brady. Brady is a passenger on the 2019 team led by a historic defense. Belichick is the GOAT of GOATs. He towers over Brady, and that is no knock on Tom Brady. Belichick is the greatest force we’ve seen in football. I will never, ever again bet against him. I promise this time.”

Well, two weeks later, Whitlock may bet against Belichick. He is more than positive that the Baltimore Ravens will give New England the first loss of the 2019 season.

“The Patriots’ offense is not great, in my opinion. It’s not great,” Whitlock said Tuesday on FOX Sports 1. “So, I don’t see this as a high-scoring game regardless of what happens. On the other side, I’m telling you, (Devin) McCourty and Stephon Gilmore make that defense go. They shut down wide receivers. They make that defense go. I’m not knocking the rest of them. Jamie Collins, (Kyle) Van Noy, good players. But they can be run on particularly by this team with this quarterback and Mark Ingram and just their commitment and will. They’ve (Ravens) had a week off a bye.

“Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator for Baltimore, took Colin Kaepernick to Foxboro and beat Bill Belichick and the Patriots, off a bye week as well. I think Lamar Jackson is better than Colin Kaepernick. I know at one point Colin Kaepernick — I was all in. As a runner and I think as a more consistent player, Lamar Jackson’s better. I think Baltimore’s defense is certainly good enough to limit this Patriots offense. If they weren’t coming off a bye I’d be less sure about my conviction here, but I really do believe they’re going to get the Patriots this weekend. It’s tough to prepare for this offense, that kind of physicality. People just don’t play this way.”

It’s not like his theory is awful. The Ravens were excellent against the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach John Harbaugh has been like a thorn in the Patriots’ side in the past decade.

We also know that Whitlock likes to bash the Patriots, and we do believe that Belichick has a plan for Harbaugh and his team.
