Watch: Josh Gordon Flatten Demolish Redskins CB With Powerful Stiff Arm

Is Josh Gordon in trouble? The wide receiver plays against the Washington Redskins, but the NFL won’t ignore the stiff arm he used against Quinton Dunbar.

Dunbar tried to cut Gordon’s path after the receiver hauled in a pass near midfield in the first quarter of the match. The cornerback is 6-foot-2 and 202 points, so he isn’t a tiny person. Well, he couldn’t confront Gordon, and fell straight to the ground.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has words of praise for the wideout.

“Josh has worked hard, and he’s made progress,” he said. “I think he still has a long way to go. We have 14 regular-season games left, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Gordon feels great about his game, too.

“It feels like I’m back home,” the veteran wide receiver said Thursday. “It’s a home environment — a family environment. I love these guys. They (rallied) around me to support me and show me love, and I appreciate that each and every day that I’m here. It’s just easy to come in and do what I have to do.

“Last year was kind of on the fly. I got traded (two weeks) into the season. I had to pick it up as I was going along. And with the injury at the same time, it was a lot to take on. This year, I have more familiarity with it. I got extra time in the offseason to study what I already knew, and then when I got in here, I was able to kind of pick up where I left off — and even better, I would say. So it’s pretty smooth right now.”Gordon left the Patriots last season to take care of his mental health, but returned right on time. The Patriots will need his best game this season, and he is an exceptional player. That’s why Bill Belichick didn’t want to give up on Gordon when nobody else wanted him. The Browns didn’t want him around, but Belichick fitted him into his winning formula. And it works. The Patriots are winning games, and Gordon is helping in the process.
