Watch: Slow-Motion Video From Steph Curry’s Moment Of Injury

The Golden State Warriors prayed that Stephen Curry stays healthy this season, but it looks like he will have to miss a lot of time. The superstar sustained an injury during the 121-110 loss to the Phoenix Suns at the Chase Center. The team confirmed that Curry broke his left hand.

The injury occurred while the superstar attacked the basket early in the third quarter “as a collision with Suns center Aron Baynes led him to brace for impact as he tumbled to the court. We don’t know if Curry will need surgery or how long he will stay on the sidelines, recovering from the fracture. We do know that a broken hand is a matter of months.

“It’s been a tough start for us on many levels, so we’re just trying to find our footing,” Kerr admitted Wednesday. “This puts us in a tough spot. … It’s a great opportunity for these young guys to play, but it’s also a little bit too much. You want to bring along rookies as best you can and we’re just putting so much on their plate, but we have no choice.”

Kerr will have hard time fixing his roster, because he lacks important players.

“Unfortunately, Coach Steve Kerr can’t exactly reshape his roster around a defensive identity. Former defensive player of the year Draymond Green was stripped of key complementary defensive pieces such as Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston this summer, forcing unproven youngsters to step into major roles. What’s more, centers Kevon Looney and Willie Cauley-Stein have been both sidelined with injuries in the early going. Kerr is left with a MASH unit filled with players who have largely appeared to be in over their heads.”

Unfortunately, even with a healthy Curry, the Warriors had a lot of problems and had a 1-3 start that included a few bad losses. The Warriors had the NBA’s worst defense through Wednesday, and their offense, which was ranked first for four straight seasons, actually fell out of the top 10. Things look really bad for the Golden State at this point of the season.
