LeBron James Just Proved He Can Still Be The Best Player In The NBA

The Los Angeles Lakers are happy to have the best player on the team. LeBron James proved everyone that he is the GOAT in the 119-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks. No, it wasn’t the cross-court pass to Danny Green that resulted in tying three-pointer. It wasn’t even the fast-break dunk in the fourth quarter. It was the first-quarter post-up by Anthony Davis.

Davis had the ball in a good post position against Tim Hardaway Jr. Maxi Kleber left his player to help Hardaway against Davis. What did Kleber do? He left LeBron open. He left the best player of the league open.

In four games, LeBron averages his fewest points since his rookie season. He is shooting below 50 percent from the field for the second time this decade. He has 9.5 assists per game, and that’s really impressive. Without a traditional point guard in the starting lineup, this could be attributed to circumstances.

Some say LeBron is beginning to decline. Kleber had at least one reason to believe that leaving the best player in the league to help on Davis was a good choice.

LeBron made an easy layup, and won the game by coming back from a 15-point deficit to win the game. He did that with the best statistical line of the regular season. King James finished with 39 points, 16 assists, 12 rebounds and four steals. In his 17-year career, King James had never posted a statistical line hitting all three of these benchmarks. Yes, the king still has a few tricks up his sleeve.

The best player has more to offer

Is this the best of King James? Will we see more of this? The superstar will turn 35 next month. Anthony Davis is here to give him a hand and take the team to the playoffs. LA is off to an impressive 4-1 start, and the best has yet to come.

It’s funny how the Mavericks defender miscalculated LeBron’s power. Kleber will never forget the time when he doubted King James.

LA has a good start of the season, and the players better keep playing at this pace. It will be a season to remember.
