Warriors Release Update On Curry’s Injury, Date Of Return

The Golden State Warriors lost every chance to make the playoffs this season. Kevin Durant is out of the game, Klay Thompson won’t return this season, and Stephen Curry broke his hand. Curry had a surgery a week ago to repair his broken left hand. The team announced that Curry will be out of the game for three months, but this period may be extended. Ric Bucher from Bleacher Report wrote about this.

A team source confirmed that the fracture was worse than experts first thought. It looks like Curry won’t even return this season.

The superstar had his surgery Nov. 1. Three months were enough for him to return to the floor. Curry was supposed to return at the start of February before the all-star break. The regular NBA season ends in April 15.

Curry suffered his injury in the third quarter of the loss to the Phoenix Suns. Aaron Baynes fell on Curry after he landed awkwardly on a drive to the basket. According to initial reports, the injury wasn’t serious and he was expected to return before January 2020.

The injury is serious

The team was supposed to provide an update on January to announce Curry’s return. Well, the new report killed every hope about Curry’s return.

The Warriors won three championships in five years, and they are plagued with injuries. Klay Thompson won’ see any playing time this season after the ACL surgery he had. Thompson suffered his injury in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. This happened at the same time when Kevin Durant suffered an Achilles injury. Durant is part of the Brooklyn Nets now.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a bunch of changes on the roster. The team is 2-6 at this point of the season.

The Warriors were close to winning a championship last season, but they are out of the playoff race this time. The situation doesn’t look good for the team, and it won’t improve. Every star is out of the game, and the rest of the guys won’t be able to handle the pressure of the regular season. This season is a big failure for the team.
