England Patriots defeated the Eagles in Philadelphia and receiver Julian
Edelman did something that has never happened in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick
Brady’s favorite target threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Phillip Dorsett in the third quarter of the Patriots’ 17-10 win over the Eagles. For the first time in Brady’s career, he wasn’t the leading touchdown passer in a game in which he played its entirety as noted by ESPN Stats & Info.
This is more than impressive given that Brady is in the middle of his 20th NFL season. Edelman’s pass turned out to be the difference-maker in the game. The Patriots improved to 9-1 and still own the top of the AFC East.
Belichick praises the pass
In the post-game press conference, head coach Bill Belichick said it was a good team victory for the team. The coach is proud of the way his players competed. The Patriots just went out and competed for 60 minutes. New England didn’t have a good start of the game, but tried really hard to make plays in all three phases of the game. According to Belichick, the players played for 60 minutes and played good situational football. They also made plays that their team needed to win.
The big drive in the fourth quarter put the defense in a good field position. The defense was great once again, and they were excellent in the second half of the game. Players covered well, rushed well, and tackled good. Everyone did a good job. Every player had fun out there on the field, and played a lot of good energy. It was great to come in Atlanta and go home with a win.
comes to Edelman, Belichick said it was a good read on the play. Edelman made a
good decision and put his quarterback rating up pretty high. Of course, this
touchdown didn’t come with an injury, and Edelman will have to treat his
shoulder with some ice and massage it.
is a good result, and the Patriots are back on track following their loss to
the Baltimore Ravens.
