Report: Patriots Work Out Former Eagles Defensive Back

The New England Patriots placed one Division-II player on injured reserve, but they also worked out another defensive back.

Defensive back Tre Sullivan played his college football at tiny Shepherd University in West Virginia. He visited Gillette Stadium for a free agent workout Tuesday. The information was confirmed by several reports.

Sullivan played the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in 12 games in 2018 with one start. In these games, he played 220 snaps on defense and another 206 on special teams, stacking 17 tackles.

The Philadelphia Eagles released Sullivan ahead of the final roster trimmings this past summer. He is expected to sign with a different team. The DC Defenders selected him in the inaugural XL draft.

The 24-year-old is eligible for the practice squad, and New England has three open spots on theirs after losing offensive tackle Dan Skipper and defensive lineman Ufomba Kamalu to other teams. Safety Obi Melifonwu on practice squad injury report.

The Patriots announced their decision to make two changes to their 53-man roster Tuesday, moving wide receiver/punt returner Gunner Olszewski to injured reserve. They will also activate left tackle Isaiah Wynn.

New England is 9-1 at this point of the regular season. They struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the offense had hard time scoring. Well, they didn’t score at all, and the only touchdown pass came from receiver Julian Edelman. Phillip Dorsett turned it into a touchdown.

The Patriots will do whatever it takes to win the title again. They won it last season, and they won’t return to Foxboro without a new trophy. That’s what the Patriots try to do this season.

Haters keep talking about Tom Brady and the possibility to retire, but we believe that none of the rumors is true. Brady promised to play until he is 45 or more. His body coach Alex Guerrero believes that Brady may play until 46 or 47.

It’s a good season for New England, and the best is yet to come. Everything depends on the second half of the regular season. The GOAT says so. Game on, Pats!
