Update Emerges On Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu’s Injury

The New England Patriots had issues with the depth of their receiver unit, and they may be dealing with an even bigger problem on Sunday. After suffering an ankle injury in the Patriots’ Week 11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, receiver Mohamed Sanu was listed in the injury report Wednesday.

Although some said that the Patriots are just trying to rest their player for the next game, it looks like the Patriots are actually trying to solve a much bigger problem here.

NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran reported that Sanu may miss some time due to his ankle injury. If you watched the videos, you have probably noticed that Sanu twisted up his leg which led to a high ankle sprain. He may stay on the sidelines for a few weeks unless he marks drastic improvement.

New England signed Sanu through a deal with the Atlanta Falcons last month.

Gunner Olszewski was placed on injured reserve this week. If Sanu is unavailable Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, the Patriots will have to rely on Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers and, technically, Matthew Slatter. Phillip Dorsett missed Wednesday’s practice due to a concussion, and Edelman was a limited participant due to his shoulder injury.

Mohamed Sanu’s injury may be an issue

This may easily become a big problem for the Patriots. They need to solve the problem prior to Sunday’s match and hopefully, head coach Bill Belichick will create the perfect winning formula for his team.

It’s a long season, but the second half is more important than any game the Patriots played so far. That’s what quarterback Tom Brady says. He couldn’t hide his frustrations with the team’s offense, noting that the players need to score more. We can’t blame him at all. The Patriots offense has to be careful, otherwise they may lose more games than expected.

Unlike the offense, New England’s defense is the best in the NFL. Some analysts have even said that the team wins games thanks to their defensive game. Hopefully, everyone will improve by the end of the season. It’s a team effort after all. Is signing a new receiver necessary at the moment?
