Patriots Put Julian Edelman On ‘Limited’ List For Game Vs. Cowboys

The New England Patriots are playing the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and they have a few injured wide receivers. Veteran receiver Mohamed Sanu suffered an ankle injury in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sanu wasn’t active in Wednesday’s practice at Gillette Stadium. Wide receiver Phillip Dorsett suffered a concussion in the same game, and didn’t practice with the team. Surprisingly, Julian Edelman was also added to the injury report as limited participant due to his shoulder injury.

The Patriots may be dealing with a big problem in near future. Losing a wide receiver is not an option, because they already lack depth at that position. The team’s offense has been struggling a lot in the past few weeks. In the game against the Eagles, New England scored only one offensive touchdown. It was actually a touchdown pass to Sanu.

Linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley, safety Patrick Chung, safety Nate Ebner, running back Damien Harris and defensive end defensive end John Simon were listed as limited participants.

When it comes to the Cowboys, they have two offensive lineman on the injury report. Right tackle La’el Collins wasn’t active and right guard Zack Martin was listed as limited participant. Dallas has allowed the second-fewest sacks in the NFL, and these injuries may be impactful, because Belichick’s defense has tallied the second-most sacks in the league.

New England will try to deny the rumors regarding their drop of performance. It’s just an empty story suggesting that the defense is the only reason Tom Brady wins. We are used to stories of this kind. Rumors get even hotter in December, because doubters would do whatever it takes to attract the attention of New England. Well, head coach Bill Belichick is much better than that, and he advises his players not to pay attention to any of the outside rumors. Brady shares the same opinion.

There are just a few issues regarding New England’s roster – lack of depth in the defensive unit and the offensive struggles. Belichick is working on a solution, and he need every player to follow his instructions for the upcoming games. Game on, Pats!
