New England Patriots Officially Rule Out Two Players For Game vs. Texans
The New England Patriots deal with a serious problem, and some of their players had flu this week. Eight players missed Wednesday’s practice, and two players missed Friday’s session. Head coach Bill Belichick wasn’t really happy during the press conference on Friday. Having your team plagued with flu days before an important game isn’t the most ideal scenario, and even Belichick was coughing and sneezing during the news conference. The Texans are a tough opponent, and Belichick is well aware of the problems his team may have on Sunday. New England will play without two players.
Cornerback Jason McCourty (groin) and defensive tackle Byron Cowart (head) didn’t travel with the team = to Houston on Saturday as the Patriots get set to play the Texans in Week 13. Tight end Ryan Izzo (illness) was ruled out Friday.
The following players traveled with the team, but are ruled questionable.
LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, Knee
OT Marcus Cannon, Illness
S Patrick Chung, Illness/Heel/Chest
LB Jamie Collins, Illness
WR Phillip Dorsett, Concussion
S Nate Ebner, Ankle/Back
WR Julian Edelman, Shoulder
OL Jermaine Eluemunor, Illness
CB Stephon Gilmore, Illness
LB Dont’a Hightower, Illness
WR Mohamed Sanu, Ankle
WR Matthew Slater, Hamstring
LB Kyle Van Noy, Illness
CB Joejuan Williams, Illness
OT Isaiah Wynn, Illness
New England to defeat Houston
The Texans are a tough opponent, and the Patriots will have to play really well to defeat them. They have already defeated the Dallas Cowboys, so it won’t be a problem to defeat Houston. New England hopes for a title this season, and they are on a good way to win a Super Bowl. The team has lost just one game in the regular season, and NFL experts predict another Lombardi Trophy. Hopefully, the players will stay healthy enough to win the next few games.
Brady still plays great, and the Patriots will need him more than ever. He is set to become a free agent in March, and he should be a top priority for the team. Will the Patriots let him go? Maybe Brady plans to retire. Either way, we are looking forward to having another trophy in the facility. It’s a long season.
