Anthony Davis Says LeBron Still The Best Player In The World

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks with a 119-110 win. It was an incredible game, and Anthony Davis says LeBron James is the best player in the world. Of course, he didn’t miss the chance to praise himself, too.

“LeBron James is the best player in the world. Well… next to me,” he said.

Davis scored 31 points on 15-of-28 shooting from the field. This incredible success happened after Davis became the sixth Laker to score 40 points and 20 rebounds and the first since the big Shaquille O’Neal did so in 2003.

LeBron scored 39 points, 12 rebounds, 16 assists and four steals.

“He was locked in,” Davis added. “He got us back in the game in that third quarter and in the fourth. We were just playing off of him, he did a great job of attacking and finishing and getting to the line… When he’s locked in, best player in the world… Well, next to me (laughs). He’s able to dominate the game.”

LeBron praises his teammate, too. The Los Angeles Lakers tried really hard to sign Davis, because the New Orleans Pelicans didn’t want to give up on him.

King James uses every occasion to accentuate Davis’ role on the roster.

“If we’re not playing through Anthony Davis while he’s on the floor, then there’s no sense to having him on the floor,” he said during the Lakers’ media day. “It’s exciting to have such a beautiful young mind and a beautiful player, but also a great leader as well.”

This will be a big season for the Lakers, and they are ready to make the finals.

“It doesn’t mean that every time down we throw it to him and throw it to him and throw him,” LeBron said of Davis. “But we have the ability to do that and he’s been very efficient in his career and he commands double-teams. And when you’re able to attract two defenders on one guy, then you’ve got the numbers game. … It opens up for other guys on the floor, including myself.”

Let’s see what happens in the next game.
