Frank Vogel Is Impressed With LeBron James’ Commitment On Defense

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have had a really good season so far. The Lakers started 7-1 for the first time in almost a decade. This came like a shock for all those who thought that the Lakers would never make the playoffs. LeBron’s team is pretty good at defense, and head coach Frank Vogel is pretty impressed with their achievements.

When Vogel was hired, he said the defense would be the most important thing for his team. Well, he kept his promise, and the defense has been really great. In eight games, the Lakers had a team defensive rating of 96.5. That’s great enough for the first in the NBA by over a full point.

This success comes as a result of LeBron’s great defense. He plays with a hustle on that part of the court, and fans are more than amazed to see him roll this way.

Vogel talked about LeBron’s defensive effort prior to the 95-80 win over the king’s former team.

According to the head coach, LeBron works really hard. Vogel can’t be more impressed with his commitment on the defensive end and his efforts to set a tone with the team. In every film session they have had, players are coached hard and held to a great level of accountability. LeBron has been impeccable with his commitment on that end.

Last year, it was more than obvious that LeBron was taking plays off on defense. We can’t really blame him for this. The Lakers really had moments of great success, but they couldn’t develop into a championship team.

This year’s team has serious championship potential, and they have been bragging about it for quite some time. The Lakers have the best defense in the league and net rating in the NBA. The offense struggles in many phases, and ranks at the bottom half of the NBA.

If the Lakers’ offense can reach the top 10 and LeBron continues his defensive effort, they may make the playoffs and even win a title. It’s a log season, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
