Kevin Love Addresses On Cavaliers Trade Rumors, Playing With LeBron

Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love is playing with a rebuilding team, and let’s not forget that he is a veteran star. Well, this makes Love a prime trade candidate for the season, and Love acknowledged this position during his interview with Arash Markazi from the Los Angeles Times.

Love is well aware of the rumors, and he knows that fans view him as the missing piece of another team. There’s a growing speculation regarding the potential trade, but we’ve been hearing the same since the very first moment he signed with the team. Love would agree to whatever decision his team makes, but if the Cavaliers don’t want him out, he will definitely not ask for a trade. Love is ready to stay true to his commitment with the organization.

“I know there’s talk about me possibly being the missing piece somewhere. There’s been constant chatter since I signed that I could be traded. It’s one of those things where I’m going to keep doing right by the team, by Cleveland and by the organization. If my number is called, so be it, but I’m going to stay true to my commitment and let the chips fall where they may.”

The 31-year-old has an excellent season with the Cavaliers. He averages 18.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three. If other teams look for a solid rebounder and perimeter shooter, Love is an excellent candidate.

Well, his cap hit isn’t as appealing as his numbers.

  • 2019-20: $28.9 million
  • 2020-21: $31.3 million
  • 2021-22: $31.3 million
  • 2022-23: $28.9 million

Kevin Love and LeBron James

Love’s numbers aren’t prohibitive, but they aren’t ideal for a player like him. He isn’t a great defender and missed 20 or more games in three straight seasons coming into this season, including 60 last year due to a toe injury.

This doesn’t change the fact that Love has a championship pedigree. He played in four NBA Finals and won one title alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Cleveland is probably out of the big game now, but Love really fits in the postseason spotlight. That makes him a good candidate for other teams.

When it comes to LeBron, Love has nothing but words of praise.

“Any team with LeBron is going to be a fun team to watch, but he’s leading them and he has been super efficient. There are nights where he’s going to have 30, 15 and 15 and then there’s nights where he’s going to play at his own pace and not put up those numbers, but he’s just so efficient. It doesn’t look like he’s lost a step as he gets older in this league. He continues to get smarter and find ways to make everything work.”

According to him, any team with LeBron is a fun team to watch. LeBron is an excellent leader, and he is great on the floor. Love likes the way LeBron scores during games, and respects his leaderships skills. Is there any chance for us to see Love in LA?
