LeBron James Sets New NBA Record In Win Over Spurs, Passes Kobe Bryant

Statistics shows that 14 players in the NBA history have more steals in their career than Lakers superstar LeBron James. In the game against the San Antonio Spurs, LeBron passed Kobe Bryant on the all-time steals leaderboard and hit another NBA record.

LeBron now has 1,945 steals in his professional career. Derek Harper and Allen Iverson are next on the list. We’re really looking forward to LeBron’s next NBA record. Will he pass Kobe Bryant again?

He hits another NBA record, but doesn’t like being compared to Bryant

In an interview with Jim Hill of CBS, LeBron talked about his comparison to Bryant, saying it’s “unfair” to Bryant.

“I think that’s unfair,” he said. “That’s going to be the only thing that’s unfair in this conversation we have today because I think at the end of the day, we are all different.”

He is absolutely right. Their careers are different at so many levels.

“Michael’s fans, Michael Jordan himself. Kobe fans, Kobe himself. LeBron fans, and LeBron himself. We’re all different on the simple fact that we all take different challenges, we’ve all had challenges, we’ve all had different courses, but the one thing that’s the same is that we would do anything to play this game of basketball every single day.

“Mike had his path, Mike was the greatest. Kobe had his path, Kobe was the greatest. I had my own path, hopefully someday someone will say I’m the greatest.”

LeBron will hit a lot of records this season.

LeBron can also move up several spots in a number of other statistical categories. He is currently 391 career assists shy of eighth all time, 45 steals shy of 13th, 102 3-pointers shy of 14th, 194 rebounds shy of the top 50 and 43 blocks shy of the top 100,” Ben Rohrbach from Yahoo Sports wrote. “An average season would give him all those marks. He then would have more assists than Isiah Thomas, more steals than Allen Iverson, more threes than Klay Thompson, more rebounds than Larry Bird and more blocks than Scottie Pippen. And, yes, LeBron would rank ahead of Kobe in every single one of those statistical categories. (Here is where you say, “But rings.”).
