Report: Patriots Make Roster Move, Sign D-End To Practice Squad

The New England Patriots had two empty practice squad spots, and now they have one. The team signed former Vikings defensive end Tashawn Bower.

Bower was undrafted out of LSU in 2017. He played two seasons in Minnesota, and was active in seven games. The defensive end was able to tally seven tackles and two sacks.

The 24-year-old tore his Achilles in one of the workouts this offseason. Minnesota added him to their non-football injury list, and the 6-foot-5 250-pound defensive end was waived last month.

New England is filling the empty spots. Their practice squad consists of four offensive and five defensive players: wide receivers Devin Ross and Quincy Adeboyejo, offensive linemen Najee Toran and Tyler Gauthier, Bower, defensive tackle Nate Thurman, linebackers Calvin Munson and Terez Hall, and defensive back Nate Brooks.

Bower had his debut with the Patriots Thursday, and sported No. 96.

Practice makes perfect

New England is 9-1 at this point of the season, and they are hosting the 6-4 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. This will be another important game for the Patriots. It’s not like the first ten games weren’t important. Tom Brady’s team lost just one game, the Week 9 match against the Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. It was a quick lesson for the undefeated Patriots, and hopefully they learned it.

Every loss is a good lesson for the Patriots. Brady doesn’t like to lose games, and each loss fuels his motivation. The Buffalo Bills gave New England a hard time on the field, and the Philadelphia Eagles caused a lot of problems.

The only problem TB12 has at the moment is the offense. He would really love to see them score more points. During the post-game press-conference, the Patriots quarterback didn’t hide his frustration and only gave short answers. It’s more than obvious that Brady doesn’t like the lack of production in the red zone.

It’s time for head coach Bill Belichick to step up his game, and bring out some of his old tricks. The offense needs a tiny push. So, let’s see what happens on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
