Stephen Curry Gives Update On His Injury… Needs Second Surgery

Golden State Warriors superstar guard Steph Curry broke his hand in the game against the Phoenix Suns. The All-Star guard talked to media members prior to the Warriors’ game against the Utah Jazz on Monday night. Curry revealed that he will have a second surgery on his broken hand. The second surgery is necessary, and surgeons will remove the pins that were placed in his hand from the first surgery he had. Of course, this will require some extra recovery as his hand will be swollen. Curry was expected to be reevaluated in three months, and his second surgery will be done in December.

Although Curry needs a second surgery, the superstar plans to join the team this season. He believes that he will join the team in spring.

Curry expects to be ready to play, but he can’t tell more about his return. However, he expects to join the Warriors at some point in spring. It depends on his rehab process, and Curry admitted that he had never had an injury like this.

“I definitely expect to be ready to play, I don’t know when, but at some point in the spring, Curry said. “It’s just a matter of the rehab process. I’ve never obviously dealt with a hand injury like this.”

The second surgery may prolong his recovery

Without their superstar, the Golden State Warriors have found themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference. They have won 2 out of 10 games. If you take into consideration the fact that the Warriors won’t make the playoffs this season, they will try to develop their young players. Hopefully, they will have more luck in the lottery.

In other words, Curry is under no pressure to return this season. He has put a lot of miles on his body in the past five years, so he will definitely use some extra free time. The two-time MVP deserves this and much more.

The ideal situation for the Warriors may be getting rest for Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green. Losing Thompson was the first blow the Golden State Warriors suffered following Kevin Durant’s decision to leave the team. He tore his ACL in the NBA Finals, and won’t return this season.

The Warriors are far from making a bold move forward, and they will have to work with the players they have.
