Watch: LeBron Addresses On Raptors Snapping Lakers’ Win Streak

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the season opener to the Los Angeles Clippers, but won every other game until Pascal Siakam and his team defeated the king. The defending champions handed the Lakers their second loss for the season. The 113-104 win wasn’t really something LeBron James had in his plans. The same applies to Lakers head coach Frank Vogel. Siakam led the team to a win, and LeBron admitted they were better that night.

Of course, the Lakers had a lot of opportunities to win the game, but the fourth quarter changed it all.

The Raptors played without Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, but still managed to pull through against the best team in the league. Siakam is an early candidate for this season’s MVP award despite the fact that he struggled throughout most of the game. However, his second half was really strong, and he scored team-high 24 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.

“They were the better team tonight for sure,” LeBron said. “We had good opportunities to win the game, but they turned it up in that fourth quarter.”

The Raptors were better

Vogel also admitted that the Raptors played a better game, adding that they were “terrific.” According to the Lakers head coach, the Raptors’ starting lineup was really strong. They also had a lot of players coming off the bench with chances to play that they don’t usually get. This helped them win the game.

LeBron and Davis led the Lakers. Davis score game-high 27 points, 8 rebounds, four blocks, three assists and two steals. LeBron had his fourth triple-double for the season. He had 15 assists, 13 points and 13 rebounds. Of course, this was far from enough to stop the Raptors.

“I just think they played a better basketball game,” Vogel said of Toronto. “Credit to the Raptors, they were terrific tonight. The guys that they had starting the game played well, but there were guys coming off the bench with opportunities to play that they don’t normally get. They made the best out of them … During that stretch, in particular, I think we didn’t take great shots, or we turned the basketball over, and they got out on the break.”

The king is well aware of the fact that the Raptors still have championship players. Although his opponents were short-handed, they had great game, and earned a win.

“They still have championship players,” LeBron said. “Yeah, they were short-handed, but they still got guys that are championship DNA players, so we didn’t take that lightly, and the guys that came in [off of the bench] gave them a good boost.”

The Lakers are having a road game. It’s a short trip that brings them to a game against the Phoenix Suns. Devin Booker and his team are 6-3 on the regular season, and they may give LA a big headache.

But, LeBron is the king, and he can win a game with ease. Plus, Davis is here to give him a hand and win games.
