Watch: LeBron James Gives His Sneakers To A Young Fan After Win Over Spurs

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs. It was a good win for the team, and LeBron added more records to his portfolio. Something else caught everyone’s attention, and it was LeBron’s gesture. The king decided to give his sneakers to a young fan. That’s what makes him a favorite among fans.

King James is a great 3-point shooter. In his second season with the Lakers, he’s shot 35.1% from behind the arc, including 44.1% over his last five games. Following the defeat of San Antonio, LeBron was feeling it from 3-point range, and recorded four 3-pointers in seven attempts en route, stacking game-high 33 points. The Lakers defense gave him enough space to get a shot off, and LeBron shot with great confidence.

In his first seasons in the league, defenses dared the king to shoot from behind the arc. He did that in multiple occasions, but it didn’t go in at a high rate. This is one of the few holes in LeBron’s game, but it was exposed in his first NBA Finals appearance against San Antonio in 2007.

In that series against the Spurs, the 22-year-old LeBron shot 20% from 3-point range in 20 attempts. It wasn’t that San Antonio players weren’t letting him shoot 3-pointers – it was that the King wasn’t making them.

LeBron evolved into a great 3-point shooter. After the Lakers’ win on Monday, the king thanked Gregg Popovich’s tough defensive scheme for motivating him to become the player he is today.

More sneakers for every win

The Lakers surrounded LeBron with shooters in the offseason, and it’s also great to see him shoot 3-points himself. Anthony Davis is doing the same thing, and head coach Frank Vogel challenges the former Pelican to take more 3-pointers during the four-game road trip the players are on. He also said LeBron was their best 3-point shooter on multiple occasions.

LeBron and Davis make the best duo in the NBA at the moment, and they are on a good way to win a title this season. The Lakers are 15-2 at the moment. It’s a long season for the team.
