Report: Patriots Waiving Defensive Tackle To Re-Sign Kicker

The New England Patriots are always interested in making changes, especially if these changes are expected to benefit the team. Quarterback Tom Brady and his team will play the Kansas City Chiefs, and their opponents will definitely look for revenge. Head coach Bill Belichick knows how to create the perfect winning formula. There are a few empty gaps in his plans though. The offense still struggles to score points, and TB12 is more than frustrated. In one of the most recent moves, New England waived a defensive tackle to re-sign a kicker.

The Patriots decided to waive undrafted rookie Defensive tackle Albert Huggins to make enough room for kicker Nick Folk. The information was confirmed by ESPN’s Field Yates Saturday morning.

Folk will rejoin the team after missing one game. He was cut last week after having an emergency appendectomy. Kai Forbath was picked as a replacement for the kicker. New England waived Forbath on Monday and claimed Huggins off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brady’s team played without a kicker in all three practice sessions this week. This gave Folk enough time to heal. The Pats didn’t have luck to claim rookie kicker Chase McLaughin off waivers. Had Folk not healed completely by Saturday, the Pats would have re-signed Forbath.

Folk played three games for New England this season. He went 7-for-9 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on extra points.

The New England Patriots are playing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. It will be a tough game for Brady and his offense. The Chiefs are well prepared, and New England will have to use every weapon to defeat Kansas City.

The flu bug hit the Patriots locker room last week, but things are much better this week. Tom Brady was added to the injury report this week due to his toe issue and elbow soreness.
