Patriots Ruled Out Two, Six Questionable For Game Vs. Chiefs

The New England Patriots are playing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. It’s an important game for both teams, and the Patriots will try to come out with a win. New England has ruled out two players and six are questionable for the game against the Chiefs.

Defensive lineman Byron Cowart and offensive lineman Ted Karras won’t join the team in the effort to win the game.

Linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley, knee (LP), offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, illness (LP), safety Patrick Chung, heel (LP), wide receiver Julian Edelman, shoulder (LP), cornerback Jason McCourty, groin (LP) and wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, ankle (LP) are listed questionable.

The Chiefs will play without cornerback Morris Claiborne, shoulder (DNP), cornerback Rashad Fenton, hamstring (DNO) and running back Damien Williams, rib (DNP). Defensive end Frank Clark, shoulder/illness (DNP) is listed as questionable.

Most NFL experts believe that the Patriots will win this game. According to Mike Dussault from Patriots.com, the Patriots tend to play their best game when it looks like things go in favor of their opponents. Playing a home game brings a lot of benefits for the Patriots. The illness is no longer an issue. Patriots’ defense and special teams may lead the team again. However, the offense should be more productive than they were last week in Houston.

WEEI’s Andy Hart goes with the Patriots, too. He predicts a 27-17 win for Tom Brady’s team. Let’s not forget the fact that the Patriots haven’t lost a home game in more than two years. But the Chiefs are much healthier and better on both sides of the ball. New England will probably try to run the ball early and often. If they succeed in doing that, they will limit the production and keep Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce on the sideline. The Patriots passing attack doesn’t give us much hope. It’s all about the running game this time. The Patriots may not be able to dominate the Chiefs the way they did against the Miami Dolphins or the New York Giants earlier in the season. They need to show their competitive side. It’s a win for the Patriots.
