NFL Investigating Footage To Find Out Why Patriots Had Film Crew At Bengals Game

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor fielded a question during Monday’s press conference about the Patriots employee who recorded Cincinnati’s sideline. The New England Patriots are playing the Bengals on Sunday, and the NFL is now investigating the incident. Why did the Patriots send a film crew in Cleveland?

NFL teams regularly send a scout to watch the opponent’s game, and the scout just sit in the press box. The 1-12 Bengals played the Browns on Sunday and lost 27-19.

The Patriots have already been here. Remember the Deflategate Scandal? New England lost two draft picks, they were fined $1 million and quarterback Tom Brady was suspended four games as a result of the big scandal. The Spygate scandal was also painful. The team lost one draft pick, $250,000 and head coach Bill Belichick was fined $500.000.

Will the history repeat itself?

Coach Belichick made a statement during his appearance on WEEI, rejecting any possibility that the team sent the cameraman to find out more about the upcoming game. According to the coach, players know nothing about the activities of the production department of the organization. They only watch the videos that are released on TV.

The film crew was sent to finish a job

The team released an official statement, accepting responsibility for the incident and also noting that the film crew had no idea of the rules.

NFL teams aren’t allowed to record a sideline, and this cameraman probably found himself at the wrong place. Let’s see how will the whole thing turn for New England.

Tom Brady and his team have three games left of the regular season. The Bengals are next on their list. It’s a road game, and the Patriots will finish the season with two home games. The tough stretch of the season is over, and these three games won’t be a problem for New England. But they really need to solve the problem with the film crew first.

This isn’t the best scenario New England hoped for. Ending the season with a scandal seems really bad, and the NFL has yet to make a ruling. Initial reports suggest that they will trust the Patriots’ side of the story.
