Roger Goodell Reveals Colin Kaepernick’s Fate With NFL

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick really hoped to sign a contract with one of the teams in the National Football League. But, each team has a packed roster, and there wasn’t really a need for signal-caller. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell provided an update on Kaepernick’s fate in the league.

Things don’t really look good for the quarterback. It looks like Kaepernick destroyed his last chance to return to the league. That’s what Goodell said.

Kaepernick has been a free agent since the end of the 2016 season. NFL teams didn’t show any interest in him, and the whole thing started when Kaepernick decided to take a knee during the performance of the national anthem at the beginning of every game in the regular season. Kaepernick was out of the NFL for two season, and he wanted to come back. That’s why he decided to work out in front of NFL teams on Nov. 16.

The workout was organized by the NFL, but Kaepernick and his team didn’t like the conditions, and he changed the location shortly before its beginning. The NFL was disappointed in Kaepernick, and teams showed zero interest in the quarterback. Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise because teams didn’t need a quarterback at that point.

Goodell: Colin Kaepernick isn’t coming back

The NFL Commissioner is weighing in on what went into the decision for the league to organize a workout. He wasn’t really happy with Kaepernick’s plan to change the location.

“It was about opportunity, a credible opportunity. … He chose not to take it, and I understand that and the league has moved on,” Goodell said Wednesday as confirmed by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Kaepernick started in 11 of 12 games he played in during the 2016 season as a player for the 49ers. He has a career 28-30 signal-caller with 72 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. The NFL decided to close the book on Kaepernick’s return.

The drama surrounding Kaepernick and his infamous workout didn’t have a happy ending. He has a contract with Nike, and it seems like playing a football game is no longer an option. Game over.
