Tom Brady Reveals The Reason For His Stepping Down As Co-Chair Of Best Buddies

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is making headlines with his success on the field. The Patriots nation is impressed with Brady’s stellar performance. He’s been part of the NFL for two decades, and he still plays elite football. Although this isn’t Brady’s best season, his numbers are pretty good. But, fans are worried that this may be Brady’s last season as an NFL quarterback. Some even say that he may join a different team. Let’s not forget that Brady is set to become a free agent in March. Will the Patriots let him go? Pretty much everything Brady does points out to the possibility that he may retire after the regular season. He bought a new house in Connecticut and stepped down as co-chair of Best Buddies.

Well, Brady may be giving signs, but he is definitely not saying anything about his future plans. The Patriots quarterback is more focused on his next game. He doesn’t really talk about the future. But, why did he reduced the role he had in the charity for 16 years?

TB12 went on WEEI for his weekly interview and talked about this.

According to the quarterback, his kids are getting older and they have so many different things to do. Brady promised to support Best Buddies in the future because he is a huge advocate of what the charity does. It’s actually related to the timing. TB12 will continue working with Best Buddies, and he is just passing the torch to the next generation.

Why did he step down as co-chair of Best Buddies?

“The summer just ends up being a very busy time and my kids are getting older and we have so many different things taking us in different directions. I’m always going to support Best Buddies. Anthony (Shriver) knows that. I’m a huge advocate of what they do, so it’s just more of a timing thing than anything.

“I’m still going to be working with Best Buddies and it’s just passing the torch to the next generation that’s gotta carry it for a long time. People who do that type of work in the community, you have to be very, the tradition has to carry on. If you let it go by the wayside — certainly nobody’s going to do that — but Anthony, what he’s created with Best Buddies and the lives he’s transformed has been amazing. I was so lucky to be a part of it and I still will be part of it, just in a different way. Jayson Tatum and Jules will do a great job moving forward, so it’s nice to be able to pass the torch to them.”

Well, Brady didn’t really reveal much about his future plans, and we will have to wait a little longer for him to say anything. Things will be a lot clearer in March. For now, Brady is planning his game at Gillette Stadium.

New England has two games left of the regular season. The Buffalo Bills are next on their list, and Brady’s team will finish the season with a game against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins aren’t considered a threat, but the Bills will sure give head coach Bill Belichick a headache. New England is 11-3 at this point in the season.
