LeBron Apologizes To His Mother For Telling Her To Tone It Down During His AAU Games

During a 2008 game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics an action spilled into the stands. LeBron James’ mother, Gloria, stood between Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce so LeBron told her to sit down. Sort of.

LeBron sees things differently now that he is a parent. We’ve seen him involved in his children’s games.

The Lakers superstar apologized to his mother. Although she was one of the loudest people in the stands, LeBron really respects her support. Gloria used to go crazy at his opponents, referees, and even his coach and teammates. LeBron was embarrassed at the time, but he apologized. He knows how it feels to be a parent watching the kid play games. He apologized for his comments, and that’s all.

Yelling at the coach and your kid’s teammates may not be the wisest thing to do. LeBron takes a more supportive approach with his son Bronny, Bryce and their coaches and teams.

Parenting is hard, and we all learn every day.

His mother got the apology

“I had to apologize to my mom, because, when I was growing up playing AAU ball, my mom used to be one of the loudest people in the stands. I’m talking about going crazy at my opponents, going crazy at the referees, going crazy at my own coach and teammates. And I used to be like, “Mom, you’ve got to sit down. What are you doing mom? You’re embarrassing me.” So, mom, let me tell you right now – my mom is actually here. So, I’ve told her to her face, ‘I apologize.’ I know exactly how it feels to be a parent watching your kid play. So, yeah, I’ve apologized.”

LeBron really likes how his kids develop into big stars. Bronny is winning games with his high school team, and he follows his dad’s footsteps. One day, Bronny may become as awesome as his dad. He’s got the talent and he also has the genes. LeBron has already expressed his desire to play with the boy. One day, they may see the floor together. Until then, LeBron will support his son from the stands and the sidelines.
