LeBron Comes to Jared Dudley’s Defense After Wednesday’s Scuffle

The Los Angeles Lakers are having an excellent season, and they have a 22-3 record at this point. The team added another big win in the game against the Orlando Magic, but things didn’t go too smooth for the Lakers. First, Dwight Howard got into a thing with a few Orlando players. Jared Dudley decided to give him a hand, and he was ejected in the process.

LeBron James saw the whole thing and praised his teammate for taking one for the team. The king of basketball has seen much more than this. He really likes how Dudley stood up for the teammates. Dudley had already told media members that his job was to step in when somebody goes crazy or does something crazy to him, Anthony Davis and other players on the team. Dudley promised to be the muscle for the team.

“I mean, that’s all it takes to get ejected? These days? Little shove?” LeBron said after the game. “I’ve seen a lot more than that. But ‘Duds’ will do whatever. He told you guys at media day his job is to come in here if somebody goes crazy, do something crazy to me or AD [Anthony Davis] or whoever on the team, he’s going to be the muscle.”

Jared Dudley is the muscle

The Lakers are known as a soft, finesse team that wins games thanks to the offense. Truth is, players always had someone to step in when things get rough for his teammates. Dudley is that guy. He isn’t afraid to mix it up when needed.

In the 1980s, Kurt Rambis and Michael Cooper were the muscle for the team. During Kobe Bryant’s tenure in Los Angeles, Rix Artest “protected” players. Ron Artest was next on the list.

Dudley has spent so little playing time, his “take no prisoners” attitude will be more than helpful in the NBA playoffs. The Lakers will need more of that to keep the team “safe.”

LeBron, Davis and the rest of the guys are playing really well, and the king had the best start of a season in his career. His triple-doubles are of great help for the team, and LeBron leads the league in assists.

The Lakers have a really good chance to become champions this season. LeBron is here. We really hope that he stays healthy. Last season was a complete failure. Los Angeles can’t lose him to an injury again. Let’s see what happens by the end of the season. One thing stands for sure. Jared Dudley has everyone’s back.
